A New Holy League with a Gondor Strategy?

Resurrecting Christendom: A Blueprint

Historically the Holy League was an alliance of the 16th Century’s Christian powers (Spain, Venice, various other Italian states, to oppose the serious threat of the Ottoman Empire to continue to expand to the west, and dominate the entire Mediterranean.

Although the League did not achieve all of its immediate political and military objectives (which included the relief and liberation of Cyprus), it did gather a large fleet (still outnumbered by the Ottoman fleet) and decisively defeat the Islamic force at the battle of Lepanto (1571). Lest you think the threat to Europe at the time was overblown, Vienna itself was repeatedly attacked and besieged by the Ottomans…the final time as late as 1683, when the timely intervention and assistance of Jan Sobieski’s Poland was all that saved the day.

Historically, as noted by Baron Bodissy’s GATES of VIENNA blog, our current situation with regards to the 21st Century’s militant Islamofascism, is merely the latest chapter in a 1300 year struggle of Christianity to maintain its independence if not its existence in the face of Islamic aggressive and violent proselytizing. (The Baron notes it thus: “At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe. We are in a new phase of a very old war.” The Chief concurs!)

This piece by Dr. Timothy Furnish (Ph.D in Islamic and World History, is a former U.S. Army veteran and college professor, now working as an editor for Praeger Publishing) suggests the possibility of a sort of revived Holy League…and models its policies on what is described as a “Gondor Strategy”…taken from J.R.R. Tolkien’s LOTR Trilogy.

Again, as Pinkerton points out, the purpose of the majority-Christian parts of the planet uniting against the Muslim world would NOT be to impose democracy or in any way to change that civilization—much less to wage a new “Crusade” (although we’d better inure ourselves to that inevitable charge): “not conquest, not occupation, not ‘liberation’” but rather “feasible strategies of containment, even quarantine.” A cordon sanitaire would be created around the Islamic sandbox until Muslims learn to play nice and stop inflicting both their near and far neighbors with anti-democratic, anti-women, anti-tolerance, and anti-modernist ideology—not to mention IEDs, assassinations and plane-bombs. And until that violent minority of Muslims obsessed with creating a global caliphate is eliminated, or at least convinced of the fruitlessness of their quest—hopefully by their own co-religionists, backed up by the resolve and non-interventionist support of the larger Christian world.

Pinkerton calls this the “Shire Strategy”—but there’s a better analogy from Tolkien. Other than four hobbits who rode off to help in the war against the arch-expansionist Sauron, the Shire folk stayed home—fat, happy and clueless about the serious and deadly conflict being fought to protect them. Even Frodo, the hobbit who eventually destroyed the Ring of Power, would never have been able to do so had not Men—dedicated survivors of the destroyed Kingdom of Arnor (called, fortuitously by Tolkien, Rangers!) and committed soldiers from the extant kingdom of Gondor—engaged Sauron’s legions in both covert and overt ops. As Boromir put it at the Council of Elrond: “it is by the blood of our people that your lands are kept safe.” Rather than Pinkerton’s Shire Strategy, we should envision the rather more muscular Gondor Strategy, which would entail setting a “Watchful Peace” upon the bloody borders of Islam, as in Tolkien the most poweful human kingdom did against Sauron’s land of Mordor.

The Chief isn’t totally sure that the approach WOULD work…but it probably COULD. Nevertheless, it’s an interesting concept, and one that ultimately may become much more of a necessity that it seems to be at present. Well worth checking it out further and giving it some thought!

Jerusalem Update: Religion of Peace Doing It’s Little Thing, Again

Gunman kills 8 religious students in Jerusalem

Eight Jewish religious students have been shot dead in the worst terrorist incident in Jerusalem for more than three years. The attacker reportedly dressed himself as an Orthodox Jew in order to gain access to the Mercaz Harav yeshiva, or rabbinical seminary, in Kiryat Moshe, a suburb to the west of Jerusalem.

Normally a place of spiritual study, it was turned into a blood bath as the gunman, a Palestinian from east Jerusalem, opened fire with an AK47 automatic rifle and a pistol. The shooting began in the central library where about 80 students were gathered.

Medical sources said eight students, all young men, died and 35 were injured, 15 of whom were described as being in a critical condition. Witnesses said the gunman fired as many as 500 rounds, pausing only to change magazines.

Sadly, there is no surprise. That’s what the Islamoterrs do.

The sound of the shooting attracted the attention of an Israeli neighbour, a former member of the army. He is reported to have climbed on the roof of his house and shot the terrorist through the head.

Purported Al Qaeda Video Shows Prisoners Burned Alive

Al Qaeda’s latest display of terror has made its way onto the Internet, showing horrifying images of what appear to be prisoners in Iraq being doused with an inflammatory liquid and then burned alive.

The article links to the video itself, which brings to mind again the Warren Zevon line: “It ain’t that pretty at all!”

In fact it’s downright ugly. Know your enemy!

Archbishop Lost in Space

Britain must reject craven counsel of despair

The previous post notes the Iranian application of sharia to the circumstances of those who “opt out” of Islam.

Meanwhile, the alleged Archbishop of Canterbury has spouted off on the desirability of having sharia as a part of some sort of dual legalism in the UK. Would you believe “poor situational awareness” on the part of the not-so-Reverend Dr. Rowan Williams?

In an interview with The World at One on Radio 4…, Dr Williams made his case more accessibly, claiming that the adoption of certain aspects of sharia law “seems unavoidable”. As things stand, he said, “there’s one law for everybody and that’s all there is to be said, and anything else that commands your loyalty or allegiance is completely irrelevant in the processes of the courts – I think that’s a bit of a danger.” Hence, the Archbishop’s enthusiasm “for finding what would be a constructive accommodation with some aspects of Muslim law”.

The problem arises here:

Equality before the law is, in practice, the most meaningful form of equality that we have. The universal franchise is exercised only sporadically. But the presumption of legal equality – the blindness of the goddess Justitia – is our best guarantee that ethnic minorities and religious groups have of fair treatment.

Far from encouraging such groups to insist on special treatment, or juridical devolution, moral leaders such as the Archbishop should be doing precisely the opposite: identifying, defending and celebrating the legal common ground on which all citizens can and should gather. It is astonishing that a man of Dr Williams’s notional intelligence should end up on the side of legal apartheid and moral cantonisation, even in the euphemistic guise of “plural jurisdiction” or “transformative accommodation”.

Iran introduces law that imposes death penalty on converts

Anyone doubt why it’s called Islamofascism?

LEGISLATION has been brought by the government of President Mahmoud Amadinejad before the Iranian Majlis that would mandate the death penalty for apostates from Islam. The law’s reach would be worldwide, the legislation says.

So, it applies to anyone, worldwide, who has had the nerve to leave the “Religion of Peace”? Maybe it should be called the “Religion of Rest-in-Peace”.

The proposed Iranian law would enshrine the mandatory death penalty into the country’s civil code for men. Women apostates would be imprisoned. Two types of apostasy are set down in the legislation: parental and innate. Innate apostates are those whose parents were Muslim, declared themselves as Muslim as an adult and then leave the faith. Parental apostates are those whose parents were non-Muslims, who had become Muslims as adults, and then left the faith.

Article 225-7 states the “Punishment for an innate apostate is death,” while Article 225-8 allows a parental apostate three days to recant their apostasy. If they continue in their unbelief, “the death penalty would be carried out.”

Article 112 would give the law an extraterritorial jurisdiction, extending its mandate to cover those who renounce Islam both inside and outside Iran

Forward, into the past! The 7th Century is alive and well in Iran.

Towards an Islamic Reformation? – Update, with Nazi connections!

Indiana Jones meets the Da Vinci Code

The Chief previously noted a potentially significant re-discovery of information relating to the historic development of the Koran as the keystone of Islam.

Here’s some more commentary on the situation from Asia Times’ Spengler – one of the Chief’s favorite commentators.

Andrew Higgins’ Wall Street Journal report that the photographic record of Koranic manuscripts, supposedly destroyed during World War II but occulted by a scholar of alleged Nazi sympathies, reads like a conflation of the Da Vinci Code with Indiana Jones and the Holy Grail.

The Da Vinci Code offered a silly fantasy in which Opus Dei, homicidal monks and twisted billionaires chased after proof that Christianity is a hoax. But the story of the photographic archive of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, now ensconced in a Berlin vault, is a case of life imitating truly dreadful art. It even has Nazis. “I hate those guys!” as Indiana Jones said.

No one is going to produce proof that Jesus Christ did not rise from the grave three days after the Crucifixion, of course. Humankind will choose to believe or not that God revealed Himself in this fashion. But Islam stands at risk of a Da Vinci Code effect, for in Islam, God’s self-revelation took the form not of the Exodus, nor the revelation at Mount Sinai, nor the Resurrection, but rather a book, namely the Koran. The Encyclopaedia of Islam (1982) observes, “The closest analogue in Christian belief to the role of the Koran in Muslim belief is not the Bible, but Christ.” The Koran alone is the revelatory event in Islam.

What if scholars can prove beyond reasonable doubt that the Koran was not dictated by the Archangel Gabriel to the Prophet Mohammad during the 7th century, but rather was redacted by later writers drawing on a variety of extant Christian and Jewish sources? That would be the precise equivalent of proving that the Jesus Christ of the Gospels really was a composite of several individuals, some of whom lived a century or two apart.

Why was the survival of the manuscript microfilms concealed after the war? (Hint: Can you say Sieg Heil?)

“The whole period after 1945 was poisoned by the Nazis,” says Gunter Luling, a scholar who was drummed out of his university in the 1970s after he put forward heterodox theories about the Koran’s origins. His doctoral thesis argued that the Koran was lifted in part from Christian hymns. Blackballed by Spitaler, Luling lost his teaching job and launched a fruitless six-year court battle to be reinstated. Feuding over the Koran, he says, “ruined my life”. He wrote books and articles at home, funded by his wife, who took a job in a pharmacy. Asked by a French journal to write a paper on German Arabists, Luling went to Berlin to examine wartime records. Germany’s prominent postwar Arabic scholars, he says, “were all connected to the Nazis”.

Why were the Nazis so eager to suppress Koranic criticism? Most likely, the answer lies in their alliance with Islamist leaders, who shared their hatred of the Jews and also sought leverage against the British in the Middle East. The most recent of many books on this subject, Matthias Kuntzel’s Jihad and Jew-Hatred, was reviewed January 13 in the New York Times by Jeffrey Goldberg, who reports:

Kuntzel makes a bold and consequential argument: the dissemination of European models of anti-Semitism among Muslims was not haphazard, but an actual project of the Nazi Party, meant to turn Muslims against Jews and Zionism. He says that in the years before World War II, two Muslim leaders in particular willingly and knowingly carried Nazi ideology directly to the Muslim masses. They were Haj Amin al-Husseini, the mufti of Jerusalem, and the Egyptian proto-Islamist Hassan al-Banna, the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Missing for a half century, a cache of photos
spurs sensitive research on Islam’s holy text

On the night of April 24, 1944, British air force bombers hammered a former Jesuit college here housing the Bavarian Academy of Science. The 16th-century building crumpled in the inferno. Among the treasures lost, later lamented Anton Spitaler, an Arabic scholar at the academy, was a unique photo archive of ancient manuscripts of the Quran.

The 450 rolls of film had been assembled before the war for a bold venture: a study of the evolution of the Quran, the text Muslims view as the verbatim transcript of God’s word. The wartime destruction made the project “outright impossible,” Mr. Spitaler wrote in the 1970s. Mr. Spitaler was lying. The cache of photos survived, and he was sitting on it all along. The truth is only now dribbling out to scholars — and a Quran research project buried for more than 60 years has risen from the grave.

OK. And the point is…?

According to Islamic orthodoxy, the Quran is a verbatim record of direct revelation. No changes. No editing. No revisions. Pristine, from Allah to Mohammed to the book.

Evidence of an evolutionary progression of ancient texts into the current book directly undermines the claims of Islam to absolute and unchangeable truth. Too bad, reality is a bitch!

Bin Laden Son Wants to Be Peace Activist

This is one that you can beleive as much as you want to, but the Chief will maintain a HIGH degree of skepticism here, thank you!

Omar Osama bin Laden bears a striking resemblance to his notorious father—except for the dreadlocks that dangle halfway down his back. Then there’s the black leather biker jacket.

The 26-year-old does not renounce his father, al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, but in an interview with The Associated Press, he said there is better way to defend Islam than militancy: Omar wants to be an “ambassador for peace” between Muslims and the West.

Can you say T-A-Q-I-Y-Y-A? It’s the Koranic authorization for disinformation, and dissimulation to infidels in order to protect and further the cause of jihad, and protect those who practive it. For a rather more complete discussion of the reality of jihad and taqiyya, go here.

Britain Off-limits – to the Brits!

Bishop warns of no-go zones for non-Muslims

Somehow this cannot be what they fought for in “their finest hour”.

Islamic extremists have created “no-go” areas across Britain where it is too dangerous for non-Muslims to enter, one of the Church of England’s most senior bishops warns today. The Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester and the Church’s only Asian bishop, says that people of a different race or faith face physical attack if they live or work in communities dominated by a strict Muslim ideology.

Also worth noting is that today’s Church of England is not noted as being a nest of rabble-rousing radical racists, as is already being charged by some Moslem “Britons”.

Savage in Islamofascists’ Cross-hairs

A number of items concerning efforts of CAIR (Congress on American Islamic Relations of Angry Islamic Radicals) to destroy and eliminate radio talker Michael Savage’s ‘Savage Nation” program because of Savage’s outspoken highlighting of the efforts and ways of the Islamofascists to impose Sharia on the world through all means necessary…including any available force.

Americans don’t have to look to Sudan to see Islamic fanaticism and extremism in action. The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) is trying to destroy the Savage Nation radio show featuring Michael Savage. Having forced the firing of radio host Michael Graham from WMAL in Washington, D.C., CAIR is trying to force independent conservative Michael Savage off the air nationally by intimidating his advertisers. Officially, CAIR claims its mission includes encouraging “dialogue.” But this is a big lie.

This so-called “dialogue” is a one-way street. CAIR has found Savage “guilty” of having an “anti-Islam” bias in the same way that a British teacher was jailed and expelled from Sudan for naming a teddy bear Mohammed.

We had better wake up fast. “They’re applying Sharia law here,” says Bill Warner of the Center for the Study of Political Islam. “In the United States we’re getting Sharia law by the inch. Islam cannot be criticized. It is a sin against Allah. What Savage has done is a grievous sin against Allah, Mohammed and Islam. They are not making this up. CAIR has no choice here. As a real Muslim, they must condemn anyone who criticizes Islam.”

Savage Sues Muslim Group

Nationally syndicated radio host Michael Savage has filed a lawsuit against CAIR, the Counsel on American-Islamic Relations, charging that the Muslim group has misused copyright material from his show.

The group, which identifies itself as the nation’s leading watchdog group protecting the rights of Muslims, has used clips of Savage’s radio show to raise funds and to get supporters to demand Savage’s sponsors cease advertising on his “Savage Nation” broadcasts….In the suit he alleges that instead of being what it claims to be — a civil rights organization — it is actually a political organization “designed to advance a political agenda that is directly opposed to the existence of a free society that includes respect and dignity for all people and all religions.

If CAIR is able to continue its program unhindered, it’ll be no good for us at all. Savage’s website (linked above) will be the definitive spot for tracking the course of these procedings…and will continue to link to other sources concerning this also. The Chief considers this one to be well worth watching.

Thirty French police need treatment as Paris explodes into riots after teens die in police crash

Looks like the immigrant population has resumed its efforts to reform French cuisine, with their celebratory re-introduction of the auto-des-fetes, otherwise known as gasoline-roasted car. Hey, they aren’t discriminating either…it didn’t matter to them whether it was Chirac at the helm, or (now) Sarkozy.

Dozens of French police were seriously injured by rioters last night as President Nicolas Sarkozy appealed for calm. At least 30 officers had received treatment in the northern Paris suburb of Villiers-le-Bel, as they were attacked by hooded youths clutching metal bars and baseball bats.

In the earlier round of festivities two years ago, Sarkozy attracted the enmity of the Paris Muslim mob by properly identifying them as “scum”, while he was Interior Minister.

The trigger for the current round of Muslim-barbecued cars was the death of two (Muslim) youths riding a stolen motorcycle to evade police, who exceeded their ability to control their vehicle, and thereby exited their earthly existence. This was (of course!) held to be the fault of police who for some reason cling to the outmoded belief that they are there to enforce the law and foolishly acted on that assumption, resulting in the flight & crash of the no doubt innocent practitioners of the “religion of piss”.

For some reason, when the natives became restless and began to flic their Bics, the police decided to exit the scene. AH HA! “Omar Sehhouli, brother of one of the victims, said: ‘It is 100-per cent a police blunder. They know it, and that’s why the police did not stay at the scene.”

Right, Omar. The police MADE your brother steal a motorcycle and attempt to evade. Then they left the scene instead of staying around to be victims #31 and #32 to the expressions of concern of your piece-loving compatriots…so their act of self-preservation makes them guilty.

(If they had stayed around to get attacked, would they have then been innocent?)

France, whether or not she wants to admit it, is at war, as is all of Western Civilization.

Don’t Worry! No terrorist here!

Teacher who attacked base had death wish, FBI says

Wielding two butcher knives bought at Wal-Mart and vodka bottles to use as explosives, Tahmeed Ahmad chanted ”Death to America” and told Homestead Air Reserve Base guards he wanted to kill soldiers.

Sounds fairly straight-forward, right?

But Ahmad was no terrorist, authorities believe.

HUH?

Rather, the Miami Central High School math teacher wanted to ”commit suicide by cop” when he attacked military policemen stationed at the west gate just before midnight Sunday, the FBI said.

Hmmmm. Isn’t the middle-east crawling with terrorists who are wanting to commit suicide…with bombs, or in some cases attacking a checkpoint, or individual, knowing that it would end in the sure death of the perp? How come it’s terrorism when it’s over there, and not here?

Women’s studies professor says Islamic fundamentalists violate women’s rights

This is definitely one from the “DUH!” department!

Donna Hughes, professor and Carlson endowed chairperson of the University of Rhode Island women’s studies program, contended that Islamic fundamentalists violate women’s rights yesterday. Her lecture in the Memorial Union was part of URI’s College Republicans Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.

One wonders what the stimulus into awareness was that led to this moment of enlightenment. There’s even more:

Hughes said she uses the term Islamic fundamentalism to describe a “political movement,” and said. “Islamic fundamentalism is a political movement that has particular goals and methods and ideology,” Hughes said. She dubbed the movement as “a major threat to world peace and freedom,” and a distortion of religious belief.

“The political goal of Islamic fascists is to create a religious dictatorship,” she said. Hughes said the goals are demonstrated through rituals like honor killings, beatings, stoning, threats and family pressure.

Wonders never cease!

Senate Reaction to Mideast: Verbal Backbone for a Change

Senators slam lack of Arab support

In spite of all the brouhaha about the war, etc., this shows a singular lack of sympathy to a hands-off response to the problems of trying to find Arabs truly in support of Middle East peace – al long as Israel still exists.

Close to 80 senators – including all those running for president -signed a letter calling for greater Arab support for the peace process ahead of the international conference the US is planning for November.

The election’s coming, and the smell of Jewish votes is in the air! (Or is this just TOO cynical? In some cases yes, in all too many other cases, nah, not nearly cynical enough.

“The success of such a meeting, and ultimately the peace process itself, will depend on the cooperation we receive from the larger Arab world, particularly from those Arab states with close relations with the United States who have not yet signed agreements with Israel,” read the letter, in an apparent reference to Saudi Arabia. It was due to be sent to US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice later Tuesday.

The letter also calls for Arab countries to “recognize Israel’s right to exist and not use such recognition as a bargaining chip for future Israeli concessions” and to “pressure Hamas to recognize Israel, reject terror and accept prior agreements, and isolate Hamas until it takes such steps.”

What’s the upshot of this? Probably not much, given that so-called “moderate” Arab groups are already displeased that anyone has the nerve to expect some form of real behavior from the Saudis.

But those very stipulations would derail the effort to get the Saudis on board by setting preconditions and criticizing Saudi efforts at mediation between Fatah and Hamas, the Arab American Institute argued on its Web site.

The letter also calls for Arab countries to “recognize Israel’s right to exist and not use such recognition as a bargaining chip for future Israeli concessions” and to “pressure Hamas to recognize Israel, reject terror and accept prior agreements, and isolate Hamas until it takes such steps.”

Humph! The NERVE of the Senate to impose pre-conditions, little things like letting Israel continue to exist, and rejecting terror. This apparent offense to the Arab American Institute of these simple concepts of Israel existing and no terror shows their true colors, and they ain’t red, white, and blue!

Iran’s Ahmedinejad blasts Bush in UN speech

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad used the stage of the United Nations to launch a broad assault on the US yesterday, accusing Washington of violating human rights.

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

He predicted that the era of Western predominance in the world was drawing to a close and would be replaced by a “bright future” ushered in by the return of the 12th imam, a messianic figure in Shia Islam.

Of course this will only happen after the apocalyptic destruction of the evil Jews and the American Great Satan…but who’s keeping track?

There’s more of the usual crapola widely available in this piece, and elsewhere…but the Chief will pass on this gas.

Ahmadinejad….

Ahmadinejad Arrives for New York Visit

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, facing protests and tabloid headlines calling him “evil” and a “madman,” stirred debate Monday about free speech ahead of his appearance at Columbia University.

Another reason to get reid of the UN: it requires putting up with stuff like this. Pack it up, and ship it off to Geneva, and good riddence to bad rubbish.

Columbia President Lee Bollinger has promised to grill Ahmadinejad on subjects such as human rights, the Holocaust and Iran’s disputed nuclear program. The Iranian leader previously has called the Holocaust “a myth” and called for Israel to be “wiped off the map.” Bollinger said Monday it was a question of free speech and academic freedom.

As far as Columbia University…their University President just couldn’t pass up the chance to tweak the administration in any possible way. As far as free speech is concerned, the RIGHT to speak has no guarantee of a provided venue to speak from, nor, does it mandate any requirement to listen.

Overall summary:
• Ahmadinejad (Ahm-mad-on-a-jihad) is an Islamofascist buffoon…a dangerous buffoon, but a buffoon nonetheless.
• Columbia University is an embarrassment to itself…especially after it’s standards of academic freedom and free speech don’t extend to the United States ROTC.

Columbia’s reasoning about the ROTC ban is in protest against the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy which they say is anti-gay. Meanwhile, Ahmadinejad’s Islamofascist regime kills gays. Go figure.

Kind of breath-taking to find a noted if not notorious South Dakotan with unabashed sympathy for Islamoterr organizations and their agitprop memes. I suppose the former Senator felt like he just had to keep up with Kucinich on the TV.

The following are excerpts from an interview with former U.S. senator James Abourezk (D-SD), which aired on Al-Manar TV on August 30, 2007. To view this clip, visit http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/1551.htm.

To start with:

Interviewer: “Mr. Abourezk, welcome to Al-Manar TV.”
James Abourezk: “Thank you very much.”
Interviewer: “It’s good to have you.”
James Abourezk: “Yes, I watch Al-Manar on one of the cable channels in America.”

Chief’s note: Al-Manar is the TV service of the Damascus-based, Iranian-backed Hezbollah organization. Supposedly Hezbollah is not supposed to have access to US cable access, and although this apparently is NOT enforced it doesn’t stop Abourezk from complaining about the non-enforced policy anyway. (Hmmmm. with Abourezk’s office in Rapid City, is the cable outfit there carrying this, or is Abourezk hanging our these days in D.C., or somewhere else?)

Interviewer: “Good, that’s excellent. Especially [considering] the fact that Al-Manar TV was banned in the U.S. Does that really show something which is like shooting the freedom of expression?”
James Abourezk: “Well, freedom of expression is free for those whom the government likes. If they don’t like them, freedom of expression goes out the window, apparently.”

Right, Senator…that’s why you have been arrested for seditious (if not treasonable) activity! NOTE: The constitutional definition of treason against the United States includes “…adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort…”.

Hezbollah is definitely an enemy of the United States. One can quibble about an enemy not existing without a formally stated declaration of war…but the Chief, in his simplicity, uses a simple reality check: “If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it must be a duck. Again. Hezbollah is an enemy force in the world.

After calling Harvard Law School’s Alan Dershowitz “a real snake” for fefusing to support an Islamofascist agenda, he moves on to another topic: Hezbollah terrorists are “resistance fighters”.

Interviewer: “You also called Hizbullah and Hamas ‘resistance fighters.'”
James Abourezk: “They are.”
Interviewer: “While the U.S. administration brands them as ‘terrorist organizations’…”

Maybe because they are noted for committing acts of terrorism.

James Abourezk: “That was done at the request of Israel. That name was done at the request of Israel – that the United States calls them terrorist organizations.”

Now we get down to it: the whole misunderstanding of the “resistance fighters” is due to the influence of the evil Jews. (All together now: Seig Heil!) After some further discussion of how the REAL terrorists of the world are Israel, it’s time to get back to one of the the current fave raves of the (Daily)Kos gang: 9-11 Conspiracy!

Interviewer: “Here I need to ask you something, which is growing and escalating in the Western world, and particularly in the U.S., which is this immense wave of anti-Arab, anti-Muslim sentiment, lumping all Arabs together as ‘terrorists.’ This was clearly manifested in movies and TV series, like 24. Why? Why now? Is it just after 9/11?”
James Abourezk: “No, it’s after the Soviet Union collapsed. The Zionists were looking around for another enemy to have, because to them the Soviet Union was an enemy because they wouldn’t allow Jewish emigration. So they used that as an organizing tool, basically, and when the Soviet Union collapsed, there was no more organizing about the Soviet Union. So they looked around, and they said: Well, the Muslims. Let’s find the Arabs and the Muslims, and make them the boogeyman. And that’s what they did.”
Interviewer: “But why did this sentiment of hatred increase after 9/11?”
James Abourezk: “Well, because the Arabs who were involved in 9/11 cooperated with the Zionists, actually. It was a cooperation. They gave them the perfect excuse to denounce all Arabs. It’s a racist sort of thing, really racist – you know, picking out these 19 or 20 terrorists – they were terrorists – and saying all the Arabs are like them. So, you know, people in America don’t really look at it that deeply, and they accept what the government and the press are saying.”

Of course the fact that approximately 3000 Americans were murdered by Islamoterrorists in the United States couldn’t have anything to do with it, could it? (Nooooo. It’s all a Jewish-Bushitlerian plot!)

With some discussion of US policies vis-avis Syria (Bad USA, good Syria!), he ends this with slavering adoration for the Hezbollah war on Israel.

Interviewer: “Sir, in 2001, you came all the way from the U.S. to Lebanon to congratulate Lebanon, the Lebanese, and the resistance for the Israeli withdrawal from Southern Lebanon. Now what do you say during this time, which is in remembrance a year of the Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the earthshaking victory of the resistance, supported by the people of Lebanon. What do you say to them?”
James Abourezk: “That was quite an extraordinary thing, I thought. I actually marveled at the Hizbullah resistance to Israel, how they did it. It was a marvel of organization, of courage and bravery. I thought it was quite something.”
Interviewer: “Do you think it’s only the courage and organization that made them do this?”
James Abourezk: “Yes, absolutely. They were highly organized, the resistance, and they were very brave. They didn’t turn and run, like some Arabs armies have done. They were defeated because of that. But this is something new for the Arab world. I said at the time: The Lebanese army should ask Hizbullah to come and organize it, to train them, you know. And all the Arab armies should have the Hizbullah come and do that.”

OK. So Hezbollah is the model for the whole Arab world. Ponder that one! ’nuff said.

Six years after visiting its brand of terror on New York’s World Trade Center and the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, Saudi Arabia has become a world-class exporter of Islamist violence. The toll is grisly: Well over 3,000 Saudi citizens roaming the world — and just as many schemers are actively involved at home — are managing terrorist networks and planning and executing suicide bombings and jihadist attacks that span the globe:

• More than 30% of the insurgents fighting the Lebanese army at the siege of the Nahr el-Bared refugee camp, which claimed a toll of well over 300 during the past three months, were Saudi fighters.

• Between 20 and 30 Saudis intending to be suicide bombers cross into Iraq every single day. Several thousand more are there fighting, tasked with killing Americans and the aShiite Muslims they view as apostates.

• The ranks of Al Qaeda have been fattened in the past three years, once again with Saudi recruits. More than 1,000 Saudis are currently training in a Qaeda camp in Syria, which itself is the subject of contentious negotiations between Saudi Arabia and the Syrians, who still refuse to arrest them or shut down the camp. Young Saudi men are also training in Al Qaeda camps in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran.

Iran vows to use ‘smart’ bomb on enemies

Iran vowed Sunday to use a new 2,000-pound “smart” bomb against its enemies and unveiled mass production of the new weapon, state television reported. The government first announced development of the long-range guided bomb Thursday, saying it could be deployed by the country’s aging U.S.-made F-4 and F-5 fighter jets

Meanwhile, in addition to conventional sword-rattling, they keep up with the nuclear sort, also.

Iran said Sunday its nuclear activities have not halted or slowed down, rejecting reports that it has not significantly expanded its uranium enrichment program this summer as planned. “There has been no slowing down, no halt and no retreat. Our activities continue on the same basis we began our peaceful nuclear program,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini told reporters.

So, take them at their word. Then, the question becomes, given the ideology of the Mullahs and their political mouthpiece Ahm-mad-on-a-jihad Ahmadinejad, can the world accept a nuclear Iran?

Hamas has sent hundreds of its fighters abroad for military training, most of them to Iran, the Israeli Army’s deputy chief of staff says, and Israel has the names of more than 100 of them.

Movement, but not Toward Progress

Palestinians back caliphate over politics

By day, they are the middle class, putting in days as mild-mannered teachers, factory supervisors and office clerks. But by night, the growing number of supporters of Hizb ut-Tahrir, the Islamic fundamentalists who reject modern democracy in favour of a pan-Islamic religious caliphate, are gathering in the West Bank to recruit the thousands who have grown disillusioned with the vicious stand-off between the secular Fatah and Islamist Hamas.

ALthought the Paleswinian gangfight between Fatah Phat-a and Hesbollah Hiz-ballers in not a good thing in and of itself, thiis tilt towards a Caliphate is, at best, no improvement.

“Any person living in Palestine now realises political parties, especially the Islamic ones, have not achieved anything for the individual,” said Sheikh Abu Abdullah, a thin-framed man with a wiry beard. His is the commanding voice behind weekly Hizb lessons at the al-Faruq mosque in the middle-class suburb of Kfar Aqab, past a crowded Israeli checkpoint where east Jerusalem melds into Ramallah. About 50 men, young and old, stayed after evening prayers this week to listen to the sheikh’s lesson entreating them to follow the Koran and stop infidels from profiting at the expense of the poor – one of an estimated hundreds or thousands of mosques in the West Bank and east Jerusalem where Hizb ut-Tahrir now teaches every week.

Somehow the Chief is afraid that we’ll hear a LOT more about this in the future.

Not Many Care for CAIR These Days

CAIR blames Justice for its troubles

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) says it is suffering from a decline in membership and fundraising and blames the Justice Department for listing it as an unindicted co-conspirator in a case involving a charity accused of terrorist ties.

How typical is this? The blame is ALWAYS elsewhere, regardless of the actions that have caused the trouble. The clear record of the actions of this organization in regularly excusing Islamo militancy, and opposing effective security measures to meet its threat just COULDN’T have any effect on the popularity of CAIR, at least according to itself.

Support for charity terrorists COULDN’T be affecting this, could it? Not according to CAIR!

An antidote to their Koranic circumlocutions is a clear Biblical principle from Matthew chapter 7:

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Tuesday that rule of Islam on mankind is the only way for salvation of human beings. “There is no truth on earth but monotheism and following tenets of Islam and there is no way for salvation of mankind but rule of Islam over mankind,” said Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Afghan Sunni and Shiite ulama at Iranian Embassy in Kabul.

Of course this will be studiously ignored by the politically correct/anti-war lefty moonbats who will continue to demand that we negotiate. WHAT’S TO NEGOTIATE? How soon we surrender and convert? There’s no compromise position…you’re either with them…or not. If not, you’re a target.

Police: Gun Linked to Journalist’s Death

Police are testing guns recovered from raids in which authorities arrested seven members of an Oakland Black Muslim splinter group who investigators suspect were involved in the killing of a journalist and two others. Police Lt. Ersie Joyner said one of the guns found during the raids is thought to be the weapon that a masked attacker used Thursday morning to slay Chauncey Bailey, a journalist who was walking to work.

Bailey, 57, was the editor of the Oakland Post, and had been working on a story about Your Black Muslim Bakery before he was ambushed and slain, his colleagues said.

Freed prisoners return to jihad, says US military

At least 30 former prisoners at Guantanamo Bay have been killed or recaptured after taking up arms against US and allied forces following their release, the US military says. They have been discovered in Afghanistan and Pakistan but not in Iraq, a US Defence Department spokesman said yesterday.

Commander Jeffrey Gordon said that while in custody the men had falsely claimed to be farmers, truck drivers, cooks, small-arms merchants, low-level combatants or had offered other false explanations for being in Afghanistan.

WHAT!?? You mean that GITMO isn’t just filled with innocent camel drivers and date farmers as the anti-war moonbats would have us all believe?

The Non-Intelligent Response Or, the Salvation of the West

Some singularly salient points made by Phanarath the Dane in a guest posting on Gates of Vienna.

The West has become a very civilized place.

We have become used to dealing with people of reason and good morals. So even when we have enemies we tend to look for something good in them, something they would like to happen, something that would make it worth their while to make peace with us. We think that a reasonable deal can usually make things better for everyone involved.

And this is because we are clever and civilized. We don’t run around attacking people for no other reason than that they are unknown to us. We try to talk to them, thinking that a common understanding will benefit all parties. However, we didn’t arrive at this way of doing things in a peaceful manner. We had to fight many wars and share many stories with our former enemies before these ideas dawned open us….

However, we seem to fall somewhat short when dealing with Muslims. It seems that all the resources and the justifications tend to fall their way.

This IS a major problem.

But when empires were still around there was another way of dealing with things. From the Romans to the Nazis (in eastern Europe and Russia) it was the custom to execute a number of civilians whenever a soldier was killed by what might be a fraction of the local population. The British empire had the same way of dealing with such things. If a British soldier was killed ten or a hundred would be swinging on the gallows indiscriminately the next day.

Today we know that this kind of punishment is immoral and unjust.

War is hell. Killing civilians in air raids could be equally defined as immoral and unjust. Oh well. to quotes Cicero Silent leges inter arma. (In time of war the laws are silent.)

But back then people counted on it. And it became the natural order of things. So when the Romans, the Brits, or the Nazis killed off a village, people would tend to blame those that had made them angry.

I would love to be a “good” person. But at the same time I have come to understand that morals are no good if they don’t do any good.

When we try to respond intelligently to the threats the Western world is faced with today, we ignore the fact that we are dealing with barbarians. Any of the old empires would have done a lot better then us. The danger we face is Muslims, and they are not as civilized as we would like them to be. They have no self-interest that we can try to understand, not as a group anyway. The intelligent response will not work. It will only be exploited.

Yep, sure enough. It’s pointless to try to negotiate with psychopaths.

Soldiers of an empire would be expected to kill any commoner who looked at them in a wrong way. They would only be held responsible if they happened to kill someone “important”. The USA is not behaving anywhere near the way an empire would. So basically the US especially, and the West in general, is getting all the blame for being an empire without getting any of the benefits, and it is not working very well for us.

What will work is a predictable response to any Muslim offense, and the response must be repeated every time the offense happens. And I suppose that the time for killing innocent people is past.

There are several useful suggestions as to possible “predictable responses”. Unfortunately, we haven’t YET been bloodied enough to REALLY take the war seriously.

Taliban Makes False Murder Admission

Taliban says two German hostages killed

Can you understand a mentality that BRAGS that it committed murder, even when evidence indicates that this was not the case?

A purported Taliban spokesman said yesterday the Islamic militia had killed two German hostages and would trade 23 captive South Koreans for imprisoned Taliban fighters.

The spokesman offered no proof for his claim of the kidnapped Germans, which was disputed by both Afghanistan and Germany.

Afghan officials said one of the Germans appeared to have died from a heart attack, while the other is still alive.

“Everything indicates he was a victim of the stress of the kidnapping,” German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said in Berlin.

Women Arrested After Police Standoff

The Chief posted on the original situation that these Islamochicks were involved in last April. They sure looked suspicious then, and the seeming lack of official consequences then has clearly led to the current events.

It started with a routine domestic disturbance, except that the pair involved has recently been under investigation by federal terrorism officials. Before the day ended, Arlington police had negotiated a six-hour standoff, their robot had been shot at with a paintball gun, and they had called in a bomb squad over four potentially explosive devices.

I’m not going to copy the rest of the details…but the behavior here is pretty extreme. Also extreme is the continuing tendency of officials to down-pedal any potential threat:

Dallas police and federal terrorism officials have acknowledged investigating the pair, but police officials have said they had no direct evidence the women have ties to terrorism. The women have accused authorities of violating their rights and of religious and racial profiling.

“…no direct evidence the women have ties to terrorism.” HEY PEOPLE – get a clue! Islamofascism is a religiously based ideology that does NOT require direct affiliation with ANY organizatio to result in terroristic actions, like the Salt Lake City mall shooter (a Bosnian moslem who was buried in honor back home after his martyrdom action), like the Iranian who used an SUV to attack fellow university students in N.C….you get the idea.

Once again a common sense rule SHOULD be applied in the identification of terrorists: “If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, and has webbed feet, hey…it must be a duck!”

FBI: Iraqis Being Smuggled Across the Rio Grande

Wonder what happened here! Brian Ross at ABC must have got some real coffee instead of decaf & woke up or got hit by a cluebat…because this development is
(a) nothing new, and
(b) nothing but what a normal person might expect to be the result of our feckless enforcement of the border!

The FBI is investigating an alleged human smuggling operation based in Chaparral, N.M., that agents say is bringing “Iraqis and other Middle Eastern” individuals across the Rio Grande from Mexico.

An FBI intelligence report distributed by the Washington, D.C. Joint Terrorism Task Force, obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com, says the illegal ring has been bringing Iraqis across the border illegally for more than a year.

The gory details are all too predictable:

The FBI report, issued last week, says the smuggling organization “used to smuggle Mexicans, but decided to smuggle Iraqi or other Middle Eastern individuals because it was more lucrative.” Each individual would be charged a fee of $20,000 to $25,000, according to the report.

The people to be smuggled would “gather at a house on the Mexican side of the border” and then cross the Rio Grande into the U.S., the report says. “Unidentified individuals would then transport them to train stations in El Paso, Texas or Belen, New Mexico,” according to the FBI document.

Unfortunately, there is more ” right hand not telling the left hand what it’s doing” that discourages one from thinking that the situation is being dealt with in any sort of effective way:

Border Patrol officials in the area said they were unaware of the specifics of the FBI’s report, and federal prosecutors in New Mexico told ABCNews.com they had no current cases involving the illegal smuggling of Iraqis….A spokesman in Albuquerque said the FBI had “no viable information” that could lead to a case.

And many in D.C. still wonder why people get exercised about the border issues!

Getting Down to Business in Pakistan

A fight to the death on Pakistan’s border

Since July 3, when Pakistani troops laid siege and eventually stormed the Lal Masjid (Red Mosque) in Islamabad, more than 100 people, mostly from the security forces, have been killed in attacks in North-West Frontier Province (NWFP), primarily in the Swat region over the past few days.

The banned pro-Taliban Tehrik-Nifaz-i-Shariat-i-Mohammadi (TNSM – Movement for the Enforcement of Islamic Laws) has extensive influence in this region, fueled by its leader, Maulana Fazlullah.

What’s in a name? In this case quite a lot: “Movement for the Enforcement of Islamic Laws” indeed. They make it pretty clear what direction they’re going.

Many of the militants at the Red Mosque and associated madrassa students were believed to have been from NWFP, where revenge is now being exacted against security forces. The army has mobilized thousands of troops to the area.

Unusual if not unprecedented vigor on the part of the Paks to actually exercise authority over part of their country!

Meanwhile, the US is setting up to make itself unpleasant to the Islamoterrs from the Afghan side, and it seems to be a serious enough effort to elicit a vigorous verbal response and warning from the enemy.

The Bajaur area has been hit twice by Central Intelligence Agency predator drones, one specifically after Zawahiri. However, at a time when al-Qaeda is reactivated and the Taliban’s main focus is to lay siege of Kabul, via adjacent Nooristan province in Afghanistan, aerial surveillance is considered insufficient.

As a result, a large US base is under construction on a mountaintop at Ghakhi Pass on the Pakistan-Afghanistan (Bajaur) border. Militants believe this is in preparation for an operation inside Pakistan to clamp down on them as well as to renew the hunt for bin Laden and his associates. As a result, the militants have attacked the new base in an attempt to delay its construction….

We will shed our blood, but we will never let this base be completed,” Dr Ismail told Asia Times Online.

Just to give added emphasis to their stated willingness to die for the Religion of Piss Peace:

“My son sacrificed his life against American designs to build this base over our heads. I shall never allow them to complete it, I will fight till my last. Martyrdom for the cause of jihad is actually an open invitation to all Muslims to join forces with the mujahideen. The fresh faces of the mujahideen after martyrdom, the aroma from their flesh and blood, are living miracles and prompt youths of the area to join forces with the mujahideen to defeat the Western coalition in Afghanistan,” Ismail said.

By all means, we should seek to be the means of their being able to experience such miracles! More seriously though, this stated view is an expression of the same type of sociopathy that gave us the Nazis, the Soviet GULAG, and other truly evil expressions of allegedly human activity.

There’s even more in the piece…and one has to hope that the hunt is on from both sides of the border (for a change), and that it will meet with success.
